Taylor Swift had the crowd at her Chicago show in fits of laughter and shock as she accidentally swallowed a bug while performing.

The Blank Space singer, 33, wrapped up her time in the Prairie State after playing a weekend of shows at Chicago’s Soldier Field on the ongoing Eras Tour.

During the Evermore portion of her epic set, the star was snapped recoiling in horror before explaining her reaction by revealing she had eaten an insect.

‘I swallowed a bug, I’m so sorry,’ the All Too Well hitmaker laughed, while visibly cringing onstage.

‘Delicious,’ she joked, as the crowd roared with laughter while she tried to Shake It Off by repeatedly saying ‘it’s fine’ and ‘it’s just so stupid’ and spitting out the bug.

‘Is there any chance none of you saw that?’ she asked the audience, before coughing a little more and admitting she swallowed the creepy crawly.

‘This is gonna happen again tonight,’ Swift predicted. ‘There’s so many bugs. There’s 1,000 of them.’

Earlier in the night, the country queen brushed off a tech issue as she had to swap her glittering microphone for a bog standard one after it malfunctioned.

‘All right, guys, let’s start this over again. None of that happened … Let’s take a second in our memories, rewind ’em back, none of that happened. We’re back to 36 seconds ago,’ she joked.

During her first night in the city, she kicked off Pride Month with an impassioned speech calling out anti-LGBTQ+ legislation.

Sitting at her piano ahead of singing fan favourite Champagne Problems, the Grammy winner said: ‘First things first, happy Pride Month, everyone!

‘I’m looking out tonight, I’m seeing so many incredible individuals who are living authentically and beautifully, and this is a safe space.

‘This is a celebratory space for you. One of the things that makes me feel so prideful is getting to be with you and watching you interact with each other, being so loving and so thoughtful and so caring.’

After referencing her own song lyrics, she went on to urge Swifties to think carefully about their votes in the US midterm elections.

Throughout the tour, Taylor has been surrounded by rumours she is dating The 1975 frontman Matty Healy.

While neither Taylor nor Matty has confirmed or denied a romance, Taylor did tell her fans that she’s ‘never been this happy’ in ‘all’ aspects of her life, and they’ve also been spotted cuddling and kissing on dates.

Her rumoured relationship with the Robbers singer comes after Taylor’s split from Joe Alwyn, 32, with the relationship being said to have run its course after six years of dating.

Matty is currently embroiled in controversy after being criticised for a ‘controversial’ podcast episode, where racist and body-shaming jokes were made.
