Magpies star Jordan De Goey will learn his fate for his brutal bump on Elijah Hewett at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night, with his hearing to kick off at 5pm.
Meanwhile West Coast has withdrawn its appeal of Liam Duggan’s one-match ban for a dangerous tackle after the Eagle was hospitalised with illness.
De Goey was referred directly to the Tribunal after his hit on Hewett in the first quarter of Saturday’s clash left the 19-year old concussed, with the act graded as careless and severe impact – the highest possible grading – and high contact.

It resulted in a recommended sanction of at least a three-match ban, which would rule De Goey out of Collingwood’s upcoming clashes against Melbourne on the King’s Birthday, Adelaide and Gold Coast.
For Hawthorn legend Jordan Lewis, an appropriate penalty for De Goey would be three or four weeks, but he doesn’t believe the star midfielder deliberately targeted Hewett.

“The action was no good, that’s clear, and it will get dealt (with) in the right manner,” he said on Fox Footy’s AFL 360.
“(But) I don’t think there’s any malice in that. I think it’s a split second decision and he made the wrong decision.
“That’s the consequences, that’s why I admire players who go out there and play. Even young Elijah, you’re this young kid and you come into a game where you are physically a lot slimmer than a lot of the other players out there, so he’s taking a risk.
“To be De Goey and attack the ball the way that he does, you’re going to be put in really uncompromising positions.
“He made the wrong decision then, but he’s in that position 50 to 60 times a game and probably makes the right decision. But you pay the penalty if you make the wrong decision and you look like a dirty player and get called all sorts of names.”

The Eagles confirmed on Tuesday afternoon it would no longer challenge Duggan’s ban.
Duggan became ill on Monday evening and was admitted to hospital for observation.
He will now miss the side’s match against Adelaide on Saturday.
